Watchmen is one of the best American comic book maxiseries written by the well known British team of Colorist John Higgins, Artist Dave Gibbons and writer Alan Moore. Watchmen was published in 1986 and 1987 by DC comics and in 1987 it was published in the form of the complete book. Watchmen was basically created from a story of Moore proposed to DC featuring superheroes which the company had acquired from Charlton Comics. Most of the characters of the story were not usable from the company so Dick Giordano the editor of the story convinced Moore to develop original characters of the story instead.
