The revised version of the novel was published in 1891. In April 1891, publishing firm of Ward, Lock and Company, who distributed shorter, more inflammatory, its magazine version in England previous year, it also published the revised version of the novel. In his life, Wilde wrote only The Picture of Dorian Gray. The novel exists in various versions: in 1890 it was published in magazine edition in 13 chapters, but in this magazine, various material was deleted from the magazine’s editor J. M. Stoddart. The original material from Wilde was published by Lippincott’s Monthly Magazine with 13 chapters in the year 2011 by Harvard University Press.
