The reluctant fundamentalist is the story of one of the most powerful Americans in Lahore. Changez is the main character of this book because he is the man who belongs to one of the most famous and influential families of the society of Pakistan. But now his family moves to their homeland country the United States and starts living an ordinary life. But still, they have enough fortune and powers to regain their status. Because of power and seat changez return to Lahore and start calling his old connections for settlement he wants government officials to re-locate his palace which was located in the middle of Lahore.
But this thing is not easy for officials because now Pakistan is an independent state. No one comes here to influence people and government officials at the cost of power and money. Changez schedules continuously meetings with different kinds of people. He spends more than 15 hours in hotel lobbies so he can meet with more people.
