Winston Smith is a citizen of Oceania which is one of the three continents in which the world is divided into. He is also one of the members of the ‘Party’ which is reigning political settlement in the country. You are either a party member or a prole in the kingdom of Oceania and your choice has to be clear. Fallen in love with a women known as Julia, he feels some happiness and looks out for a hope. But, all of that was of no use since he gets captured by the party and they make him love the country how beautiful as it is.

Being a reader, I wouldn’t certainly go for a book which makes me lose my hope in humanity. However, Nineteen Eighty-Four had me captivated for 2 weeks in which I read and then that captivity still continues in my mind. It is because when you see the actual word, you feel all of this quite real especially when you have a closer look at the job the current governments are doing.

Also, the concept of war and how it is being imposed on the world is breathtaking. Being such a masterpiece and as far as its ratings are concerned, Nineteen Eighty-Four has scored 4.2 out of 5 on the Good Reads and continues to be one of the best dystopian fictions ever written.
